Cons: She enforces her political opinion with no room for discussion. She's very vague about assignments and won't discuss them in class. I felt like the books we read were chosen so that we could help support her friends. She's an extremely harsh grader, who won't answer her emails properly. I sent an email on a Monday and didn't get a response until Friday morning at 2 am.
She might qualify as the most unprepared, unprofessional professor I've ever had. Take someone else. You won't like the books she makes you read and she'll grade your essays like bashing you would save her life.
Cons: Grades tougher than most english teacher
really fun
Cons: Very scatter-brained.
Grades very harshly; she seems like she'd be pretty relaxed about grading, but she's a very harsh grader on the essays and only gives you a week or less to write them.
Books can be confusing and difficult to understand.
Class seemed to lack the "Multicultural" aspect.
Cons: You have to work for your grade.
I loved her. Would take any class she teaches.
Cons: Some of the books you read are a little complex and it's hard to come up with anything useful to bring to discussion. Also, she occasionally springs group work on you without warning, and it can get irritating if you're the only person in the group who came prepared to class.
I'm an introvert and I hate disscussion-heavy classes, but I still ended up with an A, probably from the strength of my papers and my portfolio. So if you hate discussion as well, don't despair. I enjoyed this English class more than any other I've ever taken and I would definitely take from this professor again in the future.
Cons: Gets side tracked occasionally which is not what I personally consider a con, but I am aware that some may consider that a negative.
If you have the chance to take the class, jump on that like a kid on a trampoline.
Cons: Ramsey can get a little scatter-brained, so it makes formulating your papers to what she wants challenging.
Cons: She is an extremely difficult grader. You have to write 3 essays during the semester and I've only known two people to make an A on an essay.
She is really cool and the discussions are really interesting. However, she is an EXTREMELY tough grader. If you are looking for an easy A, I do not recommend Ramsey.
